Copper Manifold

Okay, so now we know. The big dig opened a pit about eight to ten feet deep, from the foundation to the fence, on the east and south sides of the site. Small bore copper tubing was meticulously arranged on the floor of the pit and connected to two manifolds. The work was fast and furious as the big machines rolled back in to bury it all.

Hey, thanks and big shout out to the Maquires of Lakeland.

So I read the caption above and have no experience of this myself although I have been closely involved with the installation of vertical well geothermal systems here in the mountains.

Can anybody explain exactly what the above photograph is depicting?

Never seen this done before. Is the vertical black pipe in the photograph the top of a vertical geothermal well?

Are they heating the dirt ten feet below the house?
